Hey guys has anyone ever played on the stiga electronic model? Did the lights when a goal was scored actually work well? I am trying to figure out a way I could modify my current game to have a small green light go on when a goal is scored. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know and thanks in advance.

If you haven't cut out the goalcups, it wouldn't be too difficult to rig a switch up to the puck ejector under the board. Then you could mount a little red LED in that hole along the top of the boards behind the net. I've thought of doing that in the past, but it's never been priority enough to actually do it.
The parts would all be easy to pick up at RadioShack/Circuit City or other such electronics shops. Do post pictures if you go ahead with this mod. I've never seen it done on a Stiga, so I'm curious to see it in action. |

If you could get an old "Henry Compu Score" score board, you could make it work. I have one but don't want to part with it. The whole game was I think less than $100.00 and the score board was the best part. Now I have cut out the stiga goal cups on my game so I can't remember if it had the holes in the sides of the cup to slide the censor in place and attatch on the bottom. The censors are about 2 inches apart. If you did have suplax you could do a modify and make it work.
The next thing would be to go buy the cheapest game with a score board and censors on it, even a air hockey table, and use the guts.
Or do like Josh was saying and put a contact on the puck ejector and make it so when the puck pushed the ejector down it would make contact with the other contact, finishing the circuit. It would not be fool proof because the puck doesn't always settle in the right spot but would be a cheap fix. The tough part would be that the wire would have to be very light weight in order for the puck ejector to move with the weight of a puck. _________________ Maker Of SFR Table Hockey

Well I have never played on the electronic version......but I did chat with the guy that modded his game electronically.
He had cut out his goal cups and yes the goal light would come on and register on the scoreboard......he is still trying to work out the bugs in it.
Last time I spoke with him he was busy and had not the time to work on it.
But also noted that it would not be long before he was going to start working on it again.
There used to be pictures of it on here.....it was quite the setup.
I only hope that we hear some news sometime this year as any stiga owner would love to add this to there game. _________________ In the begining was the word and the word became flesh and dwelt among men. |

My friends of the great table hockey world, what I have done with my 5340 is build switches upon the side of the game (on a separate piece of board so the originallity of the game is not affected), then run the wiring to batteries under the game which then are wired to lights - both end of period green lights and red colored goal lights, that I previously inserted into the goalposts at the rear of each goal net. Of course a referree is needed to operate the switches. Ahh, the thrill of victory and/or the agony of defeat when you see that red light come on! |
