Im prasticing up on my betting skills for Las Vegas so i bet a Gatineau type will WIN and PRINT IT! Its the GAMACHE or DESJARDINS.

Its great to see players traveling to this event! The East has lost dates over the last few years. Binghamton picks up some slack whith this great event . Good luck to the travelers and to the orginizers playing in BINGHAMTON!

Those "hot hands" are very dangerous! Often times that's what wins the cup! Good luck to all and sorry I cannot be there. Cheers

Here's your A Group at Binghamton...

1. Alain Gamache
2. Steve Bernstein
3. Eric DesJardins
4. David Decrozant
5. Michel Decarie
6. Chris DiDomizio
7. Dany Leclerc
8. Stephen Klump

Mr. Caponetti was a late scratch, I am told. But Mr. Bernstein a late add.

We've got two US players in the top 8. Go Steve and Chris!

Them Canadians are tough. It's like hockey is big in Canada or something...Smile

Thanks Len, John, and Eric for keeping the community updated. I am just not that electronically savey. The final results were accurate and the official results for all players will be posted on the USTHA website soon. To all who attended, My apologies for the slow start to the event and my abscense for the first 1.5 hours to attend my daughter's NY State Championship run in Field Hockey!

Her team had won Friday , which she played a big role in but unfortunately the lost 2-0 on Saturday against a team with the goaltender with the last name of Didomizio. Those Didom's were hard to beat that day, even at our event. But, Hockey is in my families blood, from table, to ice, to the grass, GO HOCKEY! I hope everyone had a great time, tell your friends who were not in attendance about us and maybe next year they will put us on there schedule. I hope you all got your fill of food we will try to improve on that next year as well. Maybe we will have waitresses serve you at your seat. Can't beat that carving station though, hah!
Congrats Again to the winners! but I think everyone was a winner!

The OVTHL pulled back into the Burgh early Sunday morning around 4 30 am. We woud like to thank Mike for the hospitality and for putting on a great tournament. We all had a blast and it was great seeing familiar faces again and meeting some new ones. The door prizes, tee shirt and giant beer mug were great !!!. And man o man, what a buffett !!! That was easliy at least a $10 buffett at any restaraunt and all included in the entry fee. Clapping

The OVTHL is already looking forward to next year as well improving on our performance again.

Thanks Mike, for a real good time. Cheers

And a thank you to Len for bringing international players, you were a hero, at least to us. Devil

Congrats to all involved in the Battle at Binghamton.

Looking at the tournament Champion plus the B Pool and C Pool Champions, that was a very strong field of competitors!

I like the way your tournament leads up to a minor league hockey game, too!

Congratulations to all those who attended or supported from afar. Another successful, fun event.

I'd telephoned Mecca awhile back about the event, as Binghamtom is not too far from home and would afford me a picturesque drive, as well as an opportunity to see some of you I'd not seen in awhile. (Okay, and to get out of the house). But, I had to work both Saturday and Sunday.

I look forward to reading up on the event and seeing the photos.

Cheers

Hello everybody. The organizers of the Battle at Binghamton have announced the date of their 2010 tournament. It'll be held on Nov. 20.

They're updating their web site. You can find out some details already here:

http://www.freewebs.com/bathl/

They're eager to let you all know the date, but want to be respectful on the hype part, given that there's Edmonton coming up next weekend and Gatineau after that in late October.

Still, you can sign up today or start making plans.

Best,
Eric

Hello. The next event on the schedule after the Canada Challenge in Gatineau is the Battle at Binghamton on Nov. 20.

As the promotion winds up for Gatineau this week, wanted to help the very nice Mike Horan promote the event.

I've heard more players are interested in Binghamton including Dany Leclerc, the Puopolos, John Power, Len Mecca perhaps, and maybe some other MTL-area players. (Keeping it all positive, not calling anyone out by name...just have heard about their interest.)

I've booked my tickets and can't wait.

You can find out more here: http://www.freewebs.com/bathl/

Had a bunch more players sign up for Binghamton...including famous table hockey warrior Reggie S from Edmonton and table hockey dealer Len Mecca of New Jersey.

Still time to register...don't have the link as I type this but it's at the top of the left-hand column (I think) on http://www.ustha.com

Still more players signing up for the Battle at Binghamton...Saturday, Nov. 20.

Looks like some OVTHL guys are on board and a certain Canada Challenge winner as well...

See it all here: http://www.freewebs.com/bathl/

Also: Today, I got the hotel rate at the Holiday Inn across the street from the arena. It was $98 a night (split in two if you're bunking up with someone). But it expires Nov. 10, I am told.

Binghamton, New York is considered the "Carousel Capital of the World" due to the six original carousels in the Triple Cities area, donated by George F. Johnson, owner of the Endicott-Johnson Company early in the 20th century.

These Carousels were donated with the express stipulation that they would never charge admission for anyone to ride them. Apparently when Mr. Johnson was a child he was frequently too poor to ride the local carousel and he vowed this would never happen to another child in the area.

The carousel at the Ross park zoo in Binghamton, NY does charge admission, in a way, as it requires the child to drop one piece of litter found in the park into a trash barrel in order to ride. This is all written on a plaque at the entrance to the carousel

In the wake of the industrial revolution, the way in which humans understood and organized time shifted. In the industrial workplace, time became a unit of measuring work performance; a worker’s productivity could be measured by judging their output versus the amount of time spent working.

A machine that could accurately record a worker’s time would have been especially useful. In 1888, a jeweler named Willard Bundy patented such a device.

His brother Harlow E. Bundy, an attorney and entrepreneur saw a market for the device, and the Bundy Manufacturing Company was born in 1889.

The time-recording clocks were greatly successful, one of their biggest clients being the U.S. Postal Service.

Bundy Manufacturing — 1905

The company was reorganized as International Time Recording Company in 1906, and moved to Endicott. After two more mergers and reorganizations, the company became International Business Machines (IBM).

The Permanent Exhibits….
Permanent Collection: A collection of authentic BundyTime Recording Clocks dating back to the 1890’s to early 1900’s.

* Open Art Gallery: Provides a venue for upcoming as well as established artists. Exhibiting artists change monthly. Part of Binghamton’s First Friday Art Walk.

* Asian Artifacts: Featuring authentic antique furniture, elaborate wood and bronze sculptures, hand-woven carpets, exquisite jade amulets, and other cultural artifacts have been imported from the Far East.

* Southern Tier Broadcasters Hall of Fame: Honoring the pioneers of Southern Tier Broadcasting. Among those honored are names like Rod Serling, Richard Deacon, Ralph Carroll and Bill Parker.

* Vintage Barbershop: A complete Barbershop that originally stood two blocks away from the IBM factory in Endicott.

* Golden Age of Broadcast Media: Featuring a comprehensive collection of media artifacts dating back to the early days of broadcasting.
