John Labianca from Las Vegas has confirmed that he will play again this year in the United States Stiga Shootout!
Will Vegas Jay and Brandon Andreansson and J.F. Brisstette of the Las Vegas Table Hockey Club make the trip to SoCal with Johnny Labs? I hope so!

Tom Warren, who recently moved from Michigan to Northern California, is hopeful to play in the United States Stiga Shootout.
There are literally hundreds of hotels to choose from in the area. Based on your preference and your Internet search, and any deals you may be eligible for, you're likely to get a really good deal.
The closest place to stay -- both to the Orange County Airport and the table hockey tournament -- is the Travelodge:
Travelodge Orange County Airport/ Costa Mesa
Suite A
1400 Bristol Street
Costa Mesa, CA 92626 US
Phone: 714-557-8700
All the tournament details are at www.tablehockeyrocks.com
Deadline to register to play is December 7.
Make the trip and enjoy Southern California!

Although Coco high tailed it out of town ( smart lad ) he is still a mighty Detroit chimp at heart and must represent the DTHL well . Hmmm..... unless of course he has spent all his time so far eating weird hippie samdwiges and surfing and hasn't had time to practice and has totally lost his game and really stinks up the joint ... a then I guess ...he'll be from Oakland CA . LOL We'll be rooten for ya sleepy . The DTHL daug pound...GRRRRRR ! |

The past couple of weeks have been crazy.
Went back home to the Chicago area to visit my ailing father in the hospital over the Thanksgiving break. As I was flying home last Sunday, he passed away.
Made another trip back to Chicago this past weekend with my two boys for the wake and the funeral. Just got back home moments ago.
The tournament is definitely on. My dad got my three brothers and I our very first table hockey game for Christmas when I was about six years old. The tournament this coming Saturday will be held in his memory.
Checking my email:
Rob Meer from Southern California will be joining the action.
Dan Brown from Manchester, NH says he may have as many as three additional players coming with him.
Tomorrow -- December 7 -- is deadline day to register for the 4th Annual United States Stiga Shootout to be held this coming Saturday, December 12 in Costa Mesa, California.
This year, we will debut the new perpetual championship trophy -- the Stanley Cup of Table Hockey. Will Reggie be the first two-time United States Stiga Shootout Champion?
Names already engraved on table hockeys' holy grail:
2006: Espen Moe, Trondheim, Norway
2007: Ron Marsik, Hickory Hills, IL
2008: Reggie Stefaniszyn, Edmonton, AB, Canada
2009: ???

| My two sources, Johnny Labs and Peter Orum were unable to make the tournament. Johnny's ill and Peter had to work. I think I texted Mr. Rafferty, but suspect he's running the show and playing and a bit busy. |

Here's the report from Dr. Rafferty and Reggie S...I was taking notes.
Reggie beat Kent 4-0 in the finals of the A group. Reggie is the tournament's first two-time winner (he won the June 2008 one as well) and his name goes on the new permanent trophy modeled after the Stanley Cup.
Dr. Kevin Rafferty took third, defeating Roman Nezhyba in the A pool.
B pool was won by Tom Warren, San Fran by way of Detroit. He defeated Hollywood stuntman Dan Brown in the B pool finals. Sean Rafferty beat brother Brian Rafferty in the B pool third place.
In the C pool, young Jacob Na over Molly Rafferty in the finals.
In the D pool finals, it was Justin Na over Timothy (last name TBA).
About 16 players...started at 10 a.m. and done by 5:50 p.m. (West Coast time)
Congrats to Reggie and thanks to Kevin for calling with the results and putting on another tournament. |

Thanks, Eric. And thanks to Dr. Kevin Rafferty for putting on a another smooth running tournament with tons of snacks and pizza and for coming up with a great-looking new trophy - the Stanley Cup of Table Hockey!
'Komeback Kent' Richter was up to his old tricks. He was down 3 games to 1 and down 2-0 in Game 5 of the semis against Roman Nezhyba before storming back and taking the series in 7 games!
And thanks AJ for putting on the mini Coleco tournament in the evening. Congrats to Roman on his Coleco victory!

Sorry I didnt make it to AJ's for coleco. You guys are too HARD CORE for me.
Congatulations Reggie, If I never see your fintar again it will be too soon. Tom _________________ Tom |
