In Quebec 5380 tournaments the center is in the right side. In Ontario at the Johnny Goodguy Tournament itis the lefthanded center. If you play in Las Vegas at Aj Sarma's tournament you can play left or right as he has developed a way to allow both ways on the same game.
Personally, I can play on either side with no problem.
See you all there in two weeks.

Last Friday Bernie and I got together for a "Challenge Series". A tournament that is running all summer here in Ontario. It is a multi board tournament and the twist to the tournament is the underdog or lower ranked player has the home ice advantage. This helps some players compete on a more level playing field. Bernie is ranked lower than me and therefore had home ice advantage. What Bernie didn't expect in our series was that I would take a Stiga win away from him. Which allowed me to win the series in six games. I'm posting the series on youtube accept for game six which was a washout anyway.
We played 2 more series after that in which Bernie and I each won 1 game off the other guys board.
Bernie won the other 2 series 4-3. But they don't count towards the standings in the tournament.
I'm ready for July 31 and I am looking forward to the great field of competitors that are on the bill.

Hello all. The LTHL played Week 4 last night at Vito and Nick's pizza/bowling lanes.
I wrote up a quick report and Mr. Medema took some time from his Munro league playoff preparation to compile the stats. They're now posted under LTHL 2009 Summer/Fall session section at our web site...

Eric Krol is 2009 Lemont Table Hockey League Champion! Krol defeated Jeff Farwell 3 games to 1 to capture his long and hard worked for title!Contratulations to Eric. In the Semi's Jeff Farwell took out J. Rzonca in Game 7 45 seconds into OT after going up 3 games to 0 and badly cutting his bloody index finger in the series. His offence was tough to deal with, he was determined and he kicked my ****.
On the other side John Medema went up on Krol 2 games to zero then widened his series lead to 3 games to 1. After game 4 Krol went to work with some calmness, speed & rythum winning 3 straight and taking out Medema in game 7! We all had Medema penciled in after game 4.
Eric has traveled to lots of tournaments over the last 14 months or so. Those experiances showed up today in spades!
P.S. Hes still 10x better a orginizer than player!
Great Work!

Way to go Eric, and nice work John!
I appreciated you and your family allowing me to stay at your place when we made it to Chicago. It is great to see your enthusiasm for the game is paying off.

Thanks everybody. It felt good after 7.5 years playing in the LTHL to finally hoist the trophy. It's been a great year of playing TH and traveling to tournaments (Vegas, Detroit, a little one in Madison, WI, USOpen, Edmonton). Lotta good memories.
Woulda posted some scores earlier, but I've been sick as a dog since Monday. Only starting to feel human again.
Prelim round
Farwell 2 1 2 2 3 5
C. Rzonca 0 4 1 3 2 1
Semis
Eric K 3 3 2 3 3 4 3
Medema 4 4 1 7 2 3 2
Game 6 was OT
J. Rzonca 2 5 2 4 4 4 4
Farwell 7 7 4 0 2 3 5
(Games 6,7 were OT; forgot to write down game 7 score in the excitement, but it was either 4-3 or 5-4, I think)
Finals
Eric K 6 1 2 2 5
Farwell 2 0 1 3 3
3rd place
J. Rzonca 5 3
Medema 2 1

That is the plan Jim. She already has one ticket she has to use by August. _________________ If Saddam aimed 1000 missiles at our country who would you go to for help The Russians or the U.S.? |
