Hello table hockey fans;
The headline is The Canada Challenge is on. April 24th 2010 at the Clarion Hotel in Gatineau.
The byline may read "Lucy you got some splanning to do".
Re the headline I do have to do some legwork to say it's 100% a go, but I am 99% there.
re the byline, it's a long story.
and it goes like this.
Table hockey is 2 worlds to me. One reality is I love playing the game and I use it as an excuse to travel. The other reality is I like to write.
A long time ago I decided that of all the arts I practice, being a tv director is the best path to $, and writing is the best way to creative fulfilment. So like any writer, I have tried to make the process easier by creating a community and common characters. A place that I can easily return to. As some are aware that community is Snake River.
To me the distinction between the 2 worlds is very clear.
Eric. K recently said something that was prophetic. some thing to the effect of "Glad I went public"
I now know it may be difficult to keep the 2 worlds separate.
I really enjoy writing because it requires far less resources than TV. I have ton's of Snake River tales on my laptop. Most that will never see the light of day. Now I have started to introduce some of them at parthianfilms.com
If anybody finds the bits funny, awesome! But I highly suspect that 99.9999999 % of the world finds them kinda dull at best. It don't bother me a bit what you think,
BUT NOW
as I start to organize a legitimate tournament, some of you may mix me up with Bill. So curse Bill all day, that's fun, but I will need help to run the show in Gatineau, and please recognize that if you do pitch in, I will do my best to show my undying appreciation.
So as I gear up for more online madness from Lester and the gang, at Parthian Films, I want to use the boards, to advance the real table hockey. And that world is toy try and make a good tournament .
So IN THE REAL WORLD OF THE CANADA CHALLENGE, here are some early contentious issues.
I feel the need to accommodate NHL players. If no one signs up for NHL fine, but I'd like All my TH friends to show up so why exclude?
I need to make sure I get some good tables to play on. You can well imagine what I have to do, and will soon be making some formal requests, If you have some ideas, bring them forth. And as Bill would say, "Ask not what table was laid before you, yet pronounce the quality of table you brought."
Entry fees $20-$25 CND. All profits go to the Ottawa food bank.
I may use the CTHA site to save $ and not bug Pascal to build the web site for the show.
anywho, that's long enough for now.
Have at it!

Hey guys;
Glad there is some interest in Gatineau.
re any online registration, I do not know if I will have time to do a fancy pants website? As many of you know Pascal used to do the work, but he has no time these days.
So for now, I would say send me an email at info@ctha.powweb.com and I will reply. The cost will be $25 CND no advance payment, all at the door.
I will use this site and the Tavern to keep you abreast of who is coming.
Sorry guys, I am swamped today, gotta run.

Hi John,
I will place the front page link to this thread. I was waiting for your web site link before I did this, but it looks like I should just post with the forum thread link.

Thanks boys for the motivation. I have been very busy at work and I have used this as an excuse. But instead of sleep this quite Saturday morning I have opted to make a web site. Well not really make a site, I just added a page to the CTHA site.
So for sure there is no doubt the games are on!
check out http://www.ctha.ca/The_CTHA/The_Canada_Challenge.html
for everything you need to know, Well not everything. Some time today I need to add info about the hotel ...
But I guess my main question is What else do you need to know?
let me know
