hey boys

Numerous details are coming together, and it's all good.

Pascal is going to Rock the Kids edition.

The senior nature of Big Show, means that we all know what to expect. There may be a game or two that have faults. The boards may run generally fast. The lighting is not ideal and the air don't move in that room. We will probably run short of suplaks and somebody's destiny will be spoiled by an in and out.

There are a bunch of us in the NCR league are working on the known bits. We'll do our best.

I am looking at my personal schedule and it actually does not seem like that much to do really. Some things are more important than others. The watchword for me is as always, time.

I will post a schedule soon that has us finish around 8:30 - 9:00

I need to do the players scheduling by Wednesday evening. Therefore there is a cutoff for registration. That will be October 27th at 4pm Eastern!

I am also capping the tournament at 24.

The tournament will be on a clock. It all starts at 9:30 am

I have not seen any interest in using NHL players, so I am pegging this as a INT only event.

That's the bad news.

The good news depends on you.

Boys

I finally did an inventory of the CTHA equipment.

Pascal is on a run this weekend and I will have more details later. A few players have contacted me and have offered to bring parts.

but for now here is what I have ...

GAMES
11 CTHA serviceable games 6 brand new
3 NCR games used in last years tournament.
2 New games from Pascal's partner

= 16 where we need 12

PUCKS
45 blacks
a half dozen novelty pucks

INT TEAMS
14 teams total
I have enough to cover 7 games

PARTS
All the games have legs, score counters nets and glass.
4 spare nets
a half dozen replacement players
tons of scoring rails
1 suplak

ALL THE VIDEO AND AUDIO NEEDS.

Hey boys;

days away PuMpEd

check out http://www.ctha.ca/The_CTHA/The_Canada_Challenge_2010.html

to see how the day will go.

A variation of the wild west scheduling system, only a kinder gentler version.

Remember to bring food and INT players if you can

Thanks guys;

The kids event was great. Pascal did a masterful job. I think I counted 28!
Philip took top honours, but it seemed like Everyone had fun.

Now for the Big Show! 21 are either here or on their way, I will try to post stuff later. No promises.

Great to follow the tournament from here.
It brings back so many great memories from Northern America.
Kent vs. Eric in the final is no surprise for me.
They have both showed excellent skills this season.

Hope you have enjoyed the day and that you will have an excellent afterparty.

John; I would love to be there but it was not possible this time.
Another time in Gatineau and Canada Challenge......

Take care!

Best regards
Bjarne from Denmark

Thanks, John, Pascal, Alain, Eric, Stephen for another great Gatineau tournament. Good to see Bruce and others. Bernie, you have to stop drinking that Red Bull!!

Congrats, Eric, on being the first local to win the Challenge. Besides the Veteran's tournament at the 2009 World Championships, I think Saturday was my best day on connecting on fintars, but you stopped me from getting the puck to my centre in your series comeback and you made 3 clutch fintars in the last two games. Well done, Eric, and no small feat to beat Kent in 4 straight - he was at the top of his game as well!

Yup that was awesome!

Ok Ok Maybe not the Best tournament EVER, but …

1) Due to Pascal's efforts we had 27 new players to the game. A real thrill to see excitement unfettered by age.

2) We raised a ton of dough for the Food Bank

3) Our local hero Won! It will be nice to see a NCR name on the trophy.

Thanks to everyone who helped.

I am going back to sleep now, I had to work a 16 hour day on Sunday. I should have time Wednesday or Thursday to figure out the final standings.
