Blackhawks streak is impressive however they do not have to play the Canadiens, Rangers, Penguins or Bruins. I say put an asterisk on this streak. I know Holmgren has said this streak is more impressive then Flyers in 79 because of parity but I say no way. Flyers beat some terrific teams in 79- Islanders, Canadiens and Bruins. The fact Hawks get to play only in the Western Conference doesn't expose them to all the best teams in the league.

Dont care much about the streak Jay. Sure its fun and ExCiTiNg BUT Its all about the Stanley Cup here in Chicago baby!!! Streak could end tonight and it does not change the strength of this group of players as a team. Did your Flyers win the Stanley Cup that year Jay???

Hawks - Avs Tinight Gametime 8 pm Central Time

YEE HAW!

I take credit for the jonesing of the Hawks. Don't know exactly what year Jim is referring to however the Flyers have yet to go 50 years between Cups, but we are creeping in that direction. BTW- cashed a nice 3 team parlay thanks to the Avs!!! It has been good for the NHL though. Cheers

Chicago looks spectacular this year - and the West is way stronger than the East overall, after Pittsburgh & Boston. I still don't believe in Montreal in the playoffs or Toronto to make them.

no one talking about the Ducks who by the way did beat the Hawks in the skills competition earlier this year.

They're a topic around here, but only regarding what they'll do with Perry, and how can our team end up with him.

The thinking among stat heads is that the Ducks will not be able to keep up their shooting percentage:

After dealing with overpriced Heatly do you think Melnyk would pay Perry 9+ million a year? A lot of good, young players on the Sens right now.

The floor next year will be about $50 million and the Senators have heaps to spend before they get there (Alfredsson's $4.875M, Latendresse's $2M, Gonchar's $5.5M come off the already cheap books). Might as well spend it on a player who can actually help, and demonstrates his will to play every game.

That's what the scuttlebutt is. I think mainly it would kill us if he signed with the Blue Team.
