Hello,

Does anybody have any experience using Splendid City Software (R) Sports Scheduler? I have just installed it and have no idea on how to use it. Sad If any of you guys know how to do it that would be greatly appreciated!!! Smile

Thanks!
Best,
Paul S.

Hi Paul

I have been using it for at least the last seven years.
If you have specific questions then let me know.

One really cool feature of the software is that if you get
the paid version then you can upload scores and standings
to the net for realtime results. We did this in 2006 for the
Vancouver King Of Table Hockey Tournament.

We have been using it for our VTHC scheduling too, it works
really well but you have to figure it out through trial and error
how to get it to work for table hockey.

When the program is open click on "File" then "Add New Project".

Then pick a name for your project and where on your computer
you want it saved to.

Then fill in the name of your schedule, how many teams, etc, then
"Save and Close"

You will then see your schedule listed in the "Project Viewer"

Click on it and it will run you through a series of questions then
it will produce a schedule for you.

Make sure to look under "Tools" in the "Project Viewer" after you
made your schedule. Under "Tools" click on "Options/Preferences"
and then "Standings". From there you can decide tie breakers
etc.

If you don't like the schedule it gives you then make sure to
go to "Options/preferences" again and choose "Scheduling"
to fine tune how the program creates the schedule for you.

You will most likely have more questions as this is only a general
overview on how to get a schedule.

Take your time and try it out. It works well once you get a hang of
it. Produces instant standings on club/league dates too. At one time
we would have the standings for the day on a TV screen so guys
could see how they were doing. All it takes is a cable from your
comp to a TV.

Cheers, Warren

Attempted it, but somehow I get the teams versing each other (I.e. Red Wings vs. Red Wings, Griffins vs. Griffins, etc.) What am I doing wrong or how can I make them verse DIFFERENT Teams?

Hey Paul

So we don't bore other users to tears, let's do this by email.

Email me at info@vthc.net and I can help you that way.

In the meantime I can't grasp why you ended up having
teams playing against themselves.

One thing you could do is save the project or schedule
you are working on and email it to me and I might be
able to save each of us lots of time by seeing how you
set it up.

Some tips. I set mine up as follows:
- I use "league Round Robin" as the "Schedule Type"
- Under "Locations" I make three locations. "Table 1", "Table 2",
and "Table 3". Then I make everybody's "Home Location"as "Table 1".
- Depending on your numbers you may need more or less tables.
Today we need three so I am using three.
- I find that if I don't have everybody with the same home location
then I don't get a very good schedule.

Below is a couple screen shots of how I set up my scheduling in
preferences. These are key to getting a good schedule too. If it
isn't set up right I often don't get a good schedule.

Note that I have my games set to 7 minutes to allow 2 minutes
between 5 minute games.

Cheers, Warren

Ok! There was a setting for Practice schedule and I wanted to see how that was like/what it would look like.
