Has anyone considered making a graphical pattern to simulate the look, trandlucency and reflections of a real ice surface, which could be printed to acetate or thin plastic sheets and applied on top of the "ice" surface (or custom printing a Stiga "ice" sheet with such a pattern. A single pastic sheet cut to size and with slot patterns, printed with a 'realistic' ice surface and rink markings could be a relatively inexpensive and flexible way of personalizing your games, provided they would not negatively effect game play. It would cetainly fit nicely with the netted goals.

Is this the sort of thing you are talking about?

Munro - Family Cup Hockey - AKA Crystal Ice
More pics of this game Here

Fred Harland's Coleco Game Room
I think he has a light or lights under the game that light the ice.
I have lots of his photos... one day I will get around to posting
them on this site.

There was also a Henry LA Gear game that had an ice like
surface... not as nice as the two above but still sort of ice like.
The ice was made of plastic, not masonite.

Cheers, Warren

Munro also made the #2300 which used the crystal ice and the standard Munro slot pattern, that game was the best....It was the game that the old WTHA used to play all of its Tournaments on in the 70's and 80's, before bubble boy.....

The dd leafs game looked like a very nice surface, plus he did excellent work with the graphics....The key to any surface is preventing it from sagging or warping....Does Benej make custom ice surfaces for the new game??

Hi there and welcome to Table Hockey Heaven.

Those players that have Gretz etc are Coleco 3d players which
you can get on ebay. Though you would have to handpaint
to look like the photos above.

The top photos are Munro 3d players and they can be bought
on ebay too... or at least something very similar is on ebay
lots these days.

Does that help or do you need links to auctions showing these
types of players?

Cheers, Warren

Very strange I can't find the Munro players though I have
seen them lots lately. As for Coleco 3d men... they come
and go on ebay. Sorry I can't see either on ebay.

I will try to keep my eyes open though.

hey guys,

I know I am reviving an oldie here but I am wondering if anybody has any info on this custom ice sheet? It looks excellent and I am in the process of manufacturing a similar looking one for my Stiga table....or at least attempting too.

Hello, newbie here and just wanted to say that I have been watching the forums here for some time. This posting rekindled some old memories for me as my brother and I had an old Coleco game room table....good memories.

Anyway, it inspired me to check around and I have been able to locate/purchase two game room tables (one slightly modified but still working great). I am in the process of acquiring some players to paint and would love Cowboy to post some pictures of the custom coleco players (or send them to me if possible). I have about 7 team set's (mostly Montreal and Toronto) right now but looking for Chicago, Boston and New York. If anybody could help with this I would be forever in your debt. Also, I have searched and have never seen a picture of the Vancouver team that was part of the original team sets....if anybody has a picture I would love to see what they look like.

My time is limited so this will be a long labour of love, but I will keep you informed as I work to restore the two old games I have, and create some custom players to play with.

I would like to say thanks for the hours of enjoyment I have had reading through the many posts and look forward to adding my 2 cents here and there.
