Hello all. It's the Munro league playoffs tonight in Tinley Park.

Hope to broadcast the finals tonight live from John Medema's place if cell coverage and time allows. Will give a heads-up in this thread right before it starts.

We get going at 7 p.m.

Congrats to ron marsik, who won his third munro league title in four years. He beat joe salazar in the semis and dan lord in the finals. Sweeps.

I defeated matt medema 4-0 in the finals of the lower division.

Thanks to john medema for putting it on.
The chexx got a workout afterward.

We had another great finish to the year here in Tinley Park. Ron Marsik won the Campbell Conference over Dan Lord with Joe Salazar finishing third. Eric Krol won the Prince of Wales conference over Matt Medema with Joe Young finishing third. We also handed out a bunch of regular season awards at the end of the evening. I'l have all the info up on the website next week. http://ttthc.webs.com

This ends our fourth season and I'm grateful to the members who show up and make this league what it is: Competitive, Cordial and Casual. Best of all, it looks like all twelve members will be back again next season starting in April.

Eric Krol will be promoted to the Campbell Conference next year and Joe Salazar will be relegated to the Prince of Wales Conference next season. Those moves are based on their regular season standings.

As always, drop-ins are always welcomed. We love to have visitors stop by and join in the fun.

Perhaps the most modification friendly Munro tin ever (61-63 type).

The 62 and 63 National (same outer side) are well known today.
2 Mint examples and many nice 1s- the most of any deluxe gm of the
period? I'm guessing that's partly cause Maurice Richard did a Munro
TV commercial in 62. Richard and Munro VIPs played golf and ate.
Commercials in French and English.

The National came with wood puck, magnetic puck and a ball which was
of all colors green, a good example of how difficult it can be to know what
pucks etc came with the rarest gms.
http://www.tablehockeypro.com/SU6/IMG_0743.html
(you can barely see 1 3D goal judge in pic).

25 yrs ago I got back into th playin 62 Munros, nice to see them lookin
better than ever.

The Van Bobby Orr Munro group play semi regular since 73 ish.
Longest active gear driven TH gm. group I know of.

otherwise identical) 63 company catalog includes 4 full page color TH.

Excited to start another season of Munro in Tinley tonight.

I'll bring along the ipad and if I can get into Medema wifi, I'll webcast a couple games.

If it works, We'd be doing it here periodically after 7p Central:

Thanks for the interest, guys. We had another great opening night. Good competition and a lot of fun.

Dan Lord got out to an early lead in the Campbell Conference and Joe Salazar dominated the Prince of Wales Conference.

I have the website updated now and all the stats are there.
http://ttthc.webs.com

I'll try to give monthly updates.

Week 2 is in the books and I have updated the website: http://ttthc.webs.com

We had another great night, but 3 people missing from the Prince of Wales Conference really juggled the standings.

The Campbell Conference was very competitive this week. The top 5 players were only 5 points apart. That is the tightest that I have ever seen in this league. (I know. I checked the archives.)

Our game of the week features Dan Lord against Ron Marsik. You can watch it here: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/32715165

2 minor corrections. I had 22 losses and Eric had 23 shutouts.

They have been fixed on the website too. http://ttthc.webs.com

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jim Havlin, who had major spinal surgery a few weeks ago. He's recovering nicely, but his appearance at the playoffs is doubtful right now.

Thanks to the members, we have a ton of fun everytime we play. I have a bunch of trophys and medals to hand out on Oct. 19th.

Thanks, Claude. Jim definitely is a good player and a well deserved champion. He has worked hard over the last 5 years here to rise to the top. This has always been a very competitive league and we are continually challenging each other.

I've been fortunate to have a good group of guys playing here. The games are unique, the league structure is unique, but it is the members that make it successful.
Good luck with your season this year and remember to have fun.

We streamed/recorded a game from last night's Munro league opening night. It's Dan Lord vs. Ron Marsik, two past league champs who are very skilled at this game. This was a tight contest...

http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/46087704

(I will be thankful when my replacement tripod part arrives in the mail so I don't have to hold the thing up like Moses anymore/the video quality will improve.)

We had another great time playing 50-year-old Munro games at Mr. John Medema's house last night. It was Week 3 of the six-date regular season.

After things wrapped up, Jim Rzonca and Dan Lord played a quick stakes game. We captured that on video. Some of the language might not be for young ears, and some of the shooting is shaky because I was laughing so hard.

Happy Saturday, everyone.

We shall attempt to livestream the Munro league playoffs here from John Medema Arena tonight. Probably get started a little after 7 p.m. I plan to just let the stream roll for the whole time, making a short announcement at the start of the game letting you know who is playing who.

Watching Ron Marsik play Munro is quite something. Old Slow Hand, indeed.
