I picked up a Coleco 5170 and some of the sliders were cracked and brittle.

I ended up cutting off the cracked tops an used a nylon T-bushing and two nylon washers to space the height on top of the board.

I only needed to sand down the T-bushing to the correct height and it pops over the bottom ridge of the diamond post.

Nice approach -- note that this would almost certainly change the chip shot approach from the original though, which is not necessarily a loss.

Yes Stephen,
People would actually have to play table hockey....
You know, make actual plays...
I love the innovation.

Hi Tom,

This is a great idea! What size bushing and washers did you use? Does the bushing just slide on and stay tight?

http://wedo.hillmangroup.com/item/products-18/nylon-flanged-bushings/58073-k

The bushing fits tight on some diamond posts but the posts are not uniform and some are not tight. I used a dab of shoe goo on the post to hold the player tight.

I used a dremel grinding bit to to open the slots just a hair, and also used the grinder to open up the washers for a perfect fit around the bushing.

I can't remember the washer size but they are from the same company I will measure and post later.

We have been playing for a couple weeks and the setup is working great.

This would also work as a fix for failed custom tables that have the sliders falling through the slot with to sharpe of a angle for the slot.

Nuggs I have enjoyed looking at your custom table threads. This winter I am going to build a table with a new Pro Stars 2 game I picked up. I am in Minnesota and would love to make an Xcel Energy Center ice surface. The real stadium is a great rink.

PS: Why does a guy from Canada wear North Stars gear?

Thanks

Tom

The nylon washers are 3/4 x 1/16" with id of 1/4". You need two washers for each post.

The center hole has to be bored a hair to have the .260 T-bushing fit.

The bushing could be glued to the post botttom where the broken plastic was removed, so if you wanted to swap playeys it would be easier.

Hey Tom,
This Canada Guy grew up loving the Minnesota North Stars.
I played hockey as a kid and my Hockey Hero was and still is Caesar Maniago.

Number 30 was loved by the fans.

I grew loving the Stars with Maniago and Gump as the goalies, tall Cesare and tiny Gump were a great combination.

What fun teams with Goldsworthy, Parise, Harris, Nanne, Reid and Hextall.

Add to the team the great radio announcing of Al Shaver and I was hooked.

"He shoots, he scores"
