Yes, and Nils Jonsson from Sweden too! Now, the competition is 'deadly' serious.

The venerable Mike Hubbard entered the tournament this afternoon. He is one tough customer when he's well-rested Smile

Alain Gamache, the stalwart son of Québec, has just joined the list of competitors!

I hope more people from Québec are able to come to the STIGA Canada Cup, because they are very skilled players.

Wait 'til you get a look at the Jönssons. You're going to want Karl's games on video -- just remember to blink once in a while. I haven't seen his brother's game, but I'm guessing they grew up playing together, so I imagine he works a similar style.

***ANOTHER AMERICAN BRAVES THE SHORT TRIP TO TORONTO***

The wily veteran and fervid competitor, Steve Bernstein of Massachusetts, has thrown his hat into the rink!

Prepare for his tight defense and strong disapproval of bank-shot goals (especially game-winning ones).

Are there any more Americans thinking of taking a fun road trip to Toronto?
Remember: $1 USD = $0.76 CAD right now.

***NEW COUNTRY TO BE REPRESENTED AT TOURNAMENT***

Unranked intermediate-level Sergey Gurinovich, representing the Republic of Belarus has signed up to compete in the 2015 STIGA Canada Cup!

If there is a wild card in the tournament, Sergey could be the one.

***RINNER RETURNS TO RIP-UP THE ICE***

The 2011 STIGA Canada Cup 5th-place finisher, Claus 'Doktor' Rinner of Germany, is making a return to the event after a three-year 'sabbatical.'

Not only is Dr. Rinner a brilliant academic, but a brilliant table hockey strategist. Though he has not played since 2011, do not be surprised if he out-smarts you on the ice.

Welcome back, Dr. Rinner!

With all these European ringers, it will be a major accomplishment to place a few Canadians in the 'A' group in the Canada Cup -- even one Canadian in the semi-finals would be a huge result (Bruce?).

Congratulations on this ridiculously talented field. It's going to be tough. Beginners, don't despair. You might never play in a tournament this gnarly again -- just being here will improve your game.

Hello everyone. No wifi at venue to stream with.

Nils Jonsson defeated his older brother Karl to win the tournament. Believe it was a sweep with the first three games close.

Third went to Bernie Kunzler and Kevin Rafferty took fourth.

B Pool went to yours truly over Stephen Klump with a LW-C in OT of the deciding Game 5 (best of 5).

Thanks to Eugene Kurz for putting on a great tournament and to Rick Grisdale for hosting and the great Stiga discounts.

Congrats to Nils and Karl for showing the rest of us your higher level of play.

Thanks to Eugene for putting together another excellent tournament in Toronto! Nice trophies, prize money, contests, and raffle items. The total package. Oh, and the lovely hostesses, too!

Rick, thanks for the great new location AND for offering the special deals for all of us table hockey players.

Hope to see you in Anaheim on January 23, 2016 for the United States Stiga Shootout!
