*** The rates I have published below will go down even further tomorrow for me. These $ are based on what discounts the 800# telephone reservations people were allowed to give me. I also telephoned the local hotel, who told me they know they can give me much lower rates tomorrow when the person who handles group rates is in. If you want "in" you should have no trouble cancelling your current reservations. ***
_____________________________________________________________
I reserved five rooms at a special rate at a nice hotel, The Hampton Inn, part of the Hilton Hotel group. It is close to the VFW, across the river (10-15 min) in Bolingbrooke. I can reserve more rooms. The more we book the lower the price I can secure for us.
It has what appears to be a very nice L-shaped swimming pool, hot tub, hot complimentary breakfast (M-F). I also believe I can secure us a free shuttle ride over to the VFW.
Contact me if you either want one of those rooms for yourself or if you are willing to share/split the costs with others.
Here are the details so far. I expect to these already discounted prices even lower when I call back tomorrow.
* 2 studios with one king size bed and a fold-out sofabed (plus jacuzzi) at $149 first night-Thursday, then $116 per night on Friday and Saturday for 4 people per studio. ($381 plus taxes about $40 and total divided amongst four people is about $95 per person).
* 2 rooms with one king size bed each at $98 Thursday, then $84 per night on Friday and Saturday. Totals $297 plus tax is $342 and the taxes comes to $421. If two people share that's $171 each.
* 1 room with two queen size beds each (I was told by the 800# only one room was available, but later found out there are more) at $107 Thursday, then $84 per night on Friday and Saturday. Totals $275 + tax is $328 divided among two people is $164.
Food: Hampton On the House™ Hot Breakfast "Enjoy our new complimentary On the House™ hot breakfast. Menu items rotate and include such offerings as sausage patties, eggs and French toast sticks.
A new blend of delicious coffee available 24 hours a day."
If you are in a hurry, grab an On the Run Breakfast Bag™ at the front desk, complete with water, fruit, a muffin, and a cereal bar. Available Monday - Friday
Photos & Information: If you want to look at photos or othe information, here's the link to the Hampton Inn, http://www.hamptoninn.com/en/hp/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=DENLVHX
Map it on Google Maps to Lemont, ILL using: 165 Remington Boulevard, Bolingbrook, IL United States 60440

Guys,
I just got a message about going through me for hotel rooms. Yes, I will help you. Absolutely. Read the first message in this message string. I've reserved five rooms. They are there for you to get through me. I've four and maybe now three still available.
I am working 12+ hour shifts, midnights, and missed calling back the hotel to get even lower rates than I've already gotten. I just put in a call to have the Operations Manager call me as soon as possible. Nonetheless, I've got very nice rooms at a very nice hotel reserved at a discounted price that may go lower that you can have.
Here's a link to the hotel I've reserved five rooms. To take a photo tour of the hotel just go to this link and look for "Tour..." http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=CHIBBHX
Also, please check out what Jim Rzonca's put together for you at the following US Open website here's the direct link to accomodations, e.g. $48 at the D-Lux.
http://lemonttablehockey.com/usopen/accomo/index.htm
FYI - I'm flying in Thursday morning. |

Paul, are you talking about the D-Lux?
It was $48.75 last year.
This year, I called last week and it was $49.99 on a Friday night. |

Okay, I didn't hear back from the person in-charge of group discounts at the hotel, so escalated it to the General Manager. I spoke with him at his home tonight and he assured me he would get back to us with good rates (better than what 800# gave us) early tomorrow, Friday.
It would be good for any of you interested to let me know, so I can bargain knowing how many people are interested. |

Hi Eric,
Yes, Talking about the D-Lux. Made the reservation back in April for that price and now Maria tells me that price is no good, she says she never set such a price. ???? It's something like $55.00 per nite. She did this too me two years ago.

Okay, I talked with the General Manager, not the person who would give me a better deal. But time is running out and next time we'll book a year in advance and get the best price.
* There are eight ( 8 ) rooms available, each with one King size bed. Cost for Thursday night, $104. Cost on Friday night $94, on Saturday night $94. (I should be able to get $10 more off the price of these rooms).
* Both rooms with Queen size beds at my price are now gone, i.e. sold out.
* There remains: 2 studios with one king size bed and a fold-out sofabed (plus jacuzzi) at $149 first night-Thursday, then $116 per night on Friday and Saturday for 4 people per studio. ($381 plus taxes about $40 and total divided amongst four people is about $95 per person).
I know we'll be spending most of our time at the tournaments, but you might like to know:

| Just so we are clear, I have five rooms reserved. I have two of those five taken. That leaves three. I have to know before Wednesday who else wants a room, so I can cancel the reservations for the rooms that remain untaken. |

Up until now, I've been hesitant to post names. But, I want to make sure we are clear on what is what. The following people have rooms through me:
Hampton Inn, Bolingbrooke, IL
* Bernie Kunzler, Friday & Saturday nights
* Greg Scoma & Kevin Reardon, Thursday - Saturday nights
* Timothy Walker & Bob Monaghan, Friday only
* Darrel Beyer is looking to split the costs of a room with someone on Friday night. He's got a sleeping bag.
My cell is 202-438-9023
PS - the one person flip-flopping daily, and you know who you are, I still have room for you should you need it. (Darrell's looking to split a room with someone). |

Thank you, Greg. I plugged your hotel room offer in the final e-mail to players that went out earlier this week. So everyone coming to the tournament should at least be aware of it.

Hey Jim, is everything set up for the Cote's for Friday night???? Not a big problem as if there is still place they can stay at the D-Lux, or else I am sure Eric can drive them at any hotel where there will be at least a vacancy for Friday night. Yes Greg needs to be our Traveling Agency. |

| I am at the Hampton Inn. It is far nicer than the one I've been staying at in Colorado. If anyone needs me this evening, I'll be available after 6:30 PM. See my cell # in previous posts. I'm in room #417. |
