Clearly, I need an intimidating-sounding nickname. (I'm sure all the jokesters would be happy to provide some suggestions.)
I know Mr. Kraehling is SuperDave.
Does Ingo have a nickname? Maybe "The Intimidator"? It starts with an "I."
Jeff Thill will have to be "The Kid," I guess.
Where's Don King when we need his glibness?
Update: quite obviously, it's been a while since I visited this web site. Everyone in the top 10 has a nickname:

Last year, Rich Thill nicknamed me "The Guy".
I'll stick with that.

Congratulations Dany Leclerc, St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada on your 2009 US Open Championship! And, on continuing to polish the Quebecois brand.
As I wrote in another THH discussion thread http://tablehockeyheaven.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=15649&highlight=#15649

Congratulations to "Super" Dave Kraehling and Veteran Ron Marsik, second and third place. Real solid play. I hope you appreciated the congratulatory telephone call.
GOT VIDEO?????
| Quote: | | "I think the best series' will be in those quarterfinal and semifinal rounds. Those rounds should see some historic match-ups. I'd love to have the video from each. " |
I see that my thought played out and there were some really interesting playoff matchups. And they were!
QUARTER ROUND
Marsik v Kunzler - A Detroit rematch?
Leclerc v J Thill - Here was a great match up
Rzonca v Marinoff - [i}Two muscle men who play "rock 'em, sock 'em" table hockey. Was there anything remaing of the board after this series? * Congratulations to Rzonca on a big victory and a strong playoff run on the day.[/i]
Kraehling v Ingo - Finally its over! We've read about this match up of 2007's runner up Dave Kraehling vs last year's phenom and 2008 US Open Champion Bob Ingo since last year. Ingo swept! Guess Dave is "Super" afterall.
SEMI ROUND - The Chicagoans using their numbers pulled it off, picking off others to make a go at an all Chicago finals.
Kraehling v Marsik - Another Detroit rematch?
Leclerc v Rzonca - what a clash of styles
Some great story lines played out by not only the aforementioned, but others on the day as well. I'm looking forward to the stories and any videos!
Those of you who participated, you got to play against many of the best players in North America right now AND you experienced a variety of styles. You got your money's worth and more.
Finally, and most fittingly, kudos to Eric Krol for periodic updates and tournament operations and organization. His updates kept me riveted and awake on my all night 10 hour drive tonight/this morning. |

It was reminiscent of Custer's Last Stand, only Custer fared better. |

Thanks guys, I'm trying to bring table hockey to the forfront for when we move to the next level of awareness.
In my books all table hockey should be recognized for the great sport that it is.
My experience since I came back in 2003 is there are alot of table hockey players out there but are confined to being local players only due to financial constraints.
I would like to see, one day in the near future, player sponsorship and more coast to coast tournaments on all forms of table hockey. Sponsoring a player for a particular event that he or she participates in.
We are an underground organization that now needs the visibilty we deserve.
The question is, How do we get it?
And make people realize that this sport is not a "Kids Game".
Super Dave |

Dave,
Nice job!! Just make sure you get the players to sign release forms. Someone got mad at me for doing what you did. Some people don't like their games online for fear of giving away all their great moves.
Have fun,
Paul |

Thanks Paul, but all parties involved in the weekend play were well aware of me videotaping and putting it on Youtube. They had plenty of chances to say they didn't want it there. I believe Bob voiced a concern but it was in reflection of his performance.
