I came across the above game for sale on Kijiji. I agreed to purchase the game and went to meet the owner. He was a very nice gentleman who had the game all set up for me to observe. He told me that he and his brother were the original owners of the game when they were 14 and 12 years old. The box showed a label that showed the game was being sold to his father on Nov 25 1960. It was delightful to see the joy in this mans face as he described how he and his brother played many games on this game. He told me that the small pieces of hockey tape atop some of the players heads were helmets! His family had kept the game for many years in his parents basement until they passed away and he then took it back. The game was complete including stanley cup (re glued with the top in about 4 pcs!) and the cup holder, overhead, flags etc. He was happy to see someone who appreciated the game was taking it. I asked him to sign the back of the box with dates that he owned it which he was glad to do. This is what makes buying these games fun!

Nice story with a nice game to go with it.

Think you caught the collector's bug. That's not the last game you will find a good home for Cool
