Well, I'm sparing all of you the embarrassment of the Super ones' on slaught...

So with that, I'll wish all of you the very best this weekend and know that I would love to have been there.

I'll see you all next year....

Starting the C pool quarters.

A prelim round to start next.

Players who lose in the first round of A will form the B pool for playoffs.

Nice positive vibe here today.

So for those not watching the livestream, here's the report....

Bjarne over Anette in the A semis 4-0.

Davis over Rafferty 4-2 in the other A semi.

It's Anette and Rafferty in a best of 3 for third.

And then we'll stream Davis-Bjarne in the finals. It's Eric Davis' second finals in the US Open in a row.

In the B pool, Eric Krol beat Joe Salazar 3-0 in the finals.

Darwin Sampson defeated Dustin Boyle 2-0 for third place.

C pool champ is CAGA's Kevin Harla over Mike Weisman.

CAGA Table Hockey Detroit would like to congradulate Kevin Harla (Lumberjacks) for his Class C championship at Chicago.

Makes me wonder how tough CAGA will be with guys like him and Bruce in the Fall.

Bjarne Axelsen wins Game 4 and takes the 2013 Stiga US Open championship. It's Bjarne's 3rd US Open title (2009, 2011, 2013). He surpasses Rob Chargo, who won 2 of them, and ties Kenny Dubois, who has won three of them.

Congrats to Bjarne and thanks to everyone who made it.

Once again thanks for an excellent organized tournament.
Truly a tournament where you have to be there in order to completely understand how great it is.....

A big thank you to Eric and Jim for doing it.
It was professional all the way through.
The games: Waow, so well-prepped that I donīt believe it.
Nice that we also had time to socialize after the tournament.

By the way:
An appreciation from Denmark where people were watching livestream in the middle of the night Very Happy

They were very glad about this and when talking about medias to our tournaments we must not forget that medias nowadays are not only TV and newspapers but also livestream.
In fact livestream reaches the entire world while TV and newspapers mostly are reaching a certain region.

Thank You for everything: Long live USTHA!

Good morning. I just posted a bunch of photos from the Stiga and Coleco US Opens.

I haven't edited them yet, meaning the ones with people's eyes closed made it along with the good ones. And they're not organized into a folder yet, but I'd estimate that they're the first 70 photos or so.

At the start, there are plenty of photos of finalists Bjarne and Eric Davis, then by the end, it's Coleco time. In between, there's even some photos of a certain balding-but-handsome guy in a vintage-style Whalers shirt. Smile

http://www.flickr.com/photos/tablehockeyphotos/

Will post the game-by-game playoff results in the coming days as I get some time and recover from the damage caused by the post-tournament celebraish and 24 hours of a lotta playing/organizing table hockey.

Posted about 8-10 more photos from the lens of John Medema. They're the first ones in the photostream:
