OK....I am new so please forgive me if this is long. I was given last year a Carrom super stick unit. Bubble s in ok condition but cracked in a base corner. The rest of the unit is shot from being weathered outside. I will use the legs, bubble top, and internal parts to rebuild it from scratch. I plan on remounting everything to a new chassis in which I plan on building out of 3/4 inch white plastic board. I will use the old pieces as a template. Even the ice sheet will be custom made from plexiglass with a printed, decal-ed sheet underneath. I have had several units over the years and each one has major disappointment. So I want my own!!! The one my kids currently use has been the better one so far out of all of them. It's a gamecraft style. Easton brand. As long as I keep the parts lubed in silicone and spare gear sets on hand, I am good.
I have tried others like Stiga and such. But it just is not for me on the size. But I have had my own unfortunate issues with other brands that abandoned me like Halex. Unit had a nice surface, nice glass sides, good sound play, but horrible construction and bad gear unit design. But what if I was to take the good stuff from these units, I would be set. So I will use the sound and glass from the Halex and use them in a revamped Carrom unit? I cannot wait to get started.
