That's 32 Stiga & 10 Coleco. Wow, great job as always Jim. To Jim & John, little question. WOuld it not be more advantageouse to have Stiga on Saturday and Coleco on Sunday instead of Friday????

Just a thought, I could be completly wrong, just wanted to ask. Yes, yes, I am scared to ruffle any feathers. Laughing

For you King Carlo ~ If you come we will hold it any day you want.

Because we always do and will continue hold a get together on friday nights before the main event being the Stiga U.S. Open on Staurday. So after all the work that goes into preparing the weekend of events and saturdays U.S. Open we are usually drained of any more energies.

Thank you
Jim Rzonca

Well, thats a very good explanation indeed. Already to get 10 if not more on a Friday night is pretty amazing. Great idea also, if you are going to have a get together the night before, might as well play some competitve table hockey as well. Very Happy

Thanks for all your ideas, Greg. Hope to see your name on that player list.

Jim and I are working with Mr. John Power to ensure that the Coleco tournament runs smoothly and fits into the overall weekend. We've been putting on tournaments non-stop since 2002, and people keep coming, so I guess we must do an OK job. Smile

My first tournament, big tournament, that I attended was the US Open in 2005. That tournament was expertly run by Eric and Jim. The whole day/night just got better and better as it went on, and has led to my attending more and more events and playing in more and more leagues.

So you could say that Kroll and Rzonca created a table hockey monster.

Shocked

I have nothing but regard for the Twin Towers of the South Side Cheers

This Friday night event will begin the celebration of table hockey in Lemont.

Come join us--register now!
see you in Lemont,

Great news. Dave Kraehling is a terrific player and a real teacher of the sport of coleco table hockey.

Dave and Lou have quite a rivalry going. They met in the finals at the Las Vegas Open and that series went to 7 games. I don't recall the outcome when they met in Quebec City . . . perhaps someone else can refresh my memory.

I have a feeling the Dan Lords and the Jim Rzoncas are going to butt heads with these two coleco giants . . . the field for Friday night just gets more and more complex.

Dave is always chatting when he plays and I love it! I'm sorry I missed him when the tournament was over in Quebec . . . Dave also signed on for the NY City Classic in September. First John Labianca, now Dave Kraehling . . . . who's next?

Lou lost to Daniel Bordeleau & then to Gino. Lou & Dave did not meet in Quebec.

Great stuff Eric. 32 Stiga and already 14 Coleco with still over 1 month to go, and in the dead middle of summer!!!!! You guys got it going on big time!!!! I beleive Jim had 40 & 20 as objectives. I sincerly hope he acheives this. It would be the biggest back to back tournaments on different boards and 2 days straight.l

Already he has done this on 2 occasions in Los Vegas, now in Lemont.

Anyone for man of the year? Very Happy

For anyone reading here at THH, the upcoming Chicago US Open Coleco Classic will be the third, and I believe the most interesting, most exciting, coleco classic event on the #5380 board held in the United States since the 1970s, early 1980s.

1. The first coleco #5380 board classic event in America in modern times to bring high caliber players together from various areas, was the New York City Table Hockey Association's "Original Six" tournament in September 2006. Fourteen players were in attendance. It brought together some of the great players of yester-year and today. Lou Marinoff, three time Canadian Open Champion of the early 1980s. Today's Stiga Champion, Kenny Dubois, won that tournament. Others were champions from their cities. Areas/cities/states represented included, Buffalo, NY (now in Virginia); Connecticut; Marysville, Pennsylvania; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; New Jersey and the immediate NYC area.

2. The second coleco #5380 board event in America to bring high caliber players together was four months later at the Coleco Classic in Las Vegas, NV, January 2007. Thirteen Players came from Southern and Northern California (4), Illinois (1), New York (2), Pennsylvania (1) and Virginia (1). Plus Canadians from Alberta (1) and Ontario (2).

3. The upcoming event in Chicago US Open Coleco Classic, July 27, is shaping up to be the greatest coming-together of American table hockey players from the two largest modern day hot-beds of coleco table hockey in the USA, greater Chicago and New York. It could expand to include players from along the eastern seaboard, midwest and California.

Some of the players in Chicago (and nearby Detroit) were well-known top ranked players of the 1970s and early 1980s when the former World Table Hockey Association (WTHA) existed (managed by Americans and Canadians). They remain great players today.

Players coming from the east also play in Canada, so they'll be bringing their international experience to the tournament.

Players from the east include:
Dr. Lou Marinoff, NY, currently ranked 1st in New York, 13th of 66 in Quebec, 25th of 119 in Ontario, Canada.

Dave Kraehling, Ontario, Canada, currently ranked 2nd of 119 in Ontario and 5th of 66 in Quebec.

John Power, NY, currently ranked 2nd in New York and 45th of 66 in Quebec.

Greg Scoma, aka Sabre in Virginia, VA, currently ranked 4th in New York, 23rd of 119 in Ontario, and 61st of 66 in Quebec (2006).

Adam Zawislak, NJ, currently ranked 6th in New York.

Kenny Dubois, MA, is a noted Stiga great and winner of the NYCTHA's Inaugural "Original Six" coleco classic tournament in September 2006. Should he sign up to play in Chicago's US Coleco Open, then many of the top US players will be in attendance and competing against each other for the first time in modern coleco classic TH history!

I'm calling on players who I know in California, Pennsylvania and western New York to attend. I also know there were some great coleco players in Detroit back in the 1970s. Here's a chance to get back on a customized, tournament quality, coleco 5380 s-slot board. These boards are vastly superior to the originals!

Lou Marinoff, a guy who was great back in the day and is again a top 10 ranked player can tell you, today's players, their plays, are better than those of yester-year.

Cheers

Wow Jim, I'm excited as hell and I can't even be there. I know many players from our ATHL ligue are already commited to the Sept 8th tournament in New-York, but I will put out a word for this event. I hope you guys will be adopting our rules and format? I beleive this one is a winner. Very Happy I sent out the format of our new play-off system to John, if you wish for me to send you a copy Jim, just give me a shoot out. If not well that's okay to.

I was just thinking that it would be great if on the US side, things could get picked up as to have somekind of uniformization for the 5380 model. Its not dictatorship, just a thought. It could be cool though, kind of a growing process into looking a little more seriouse as an organization as it is the case in Stiga.

Well we are very ExCiTeD too Carlo! John Power & The New York City Table Hockey Association will chose a offical set of rules that in their view are most used and respected amonug most orginized players in North America. Which ever rules they choose we here in Chicagoland are eager to play this event by them.

Wish you were here man.

One ov these days we will send someone to get you and safely deliver you here.

Then you will play

Hello everybody. The BOMBS are being built as i type. Rich Thill has 3 Coleco 5380 "S" slotted games in production for this grand event.
The first game is now completly decorated tournament tuned and ready. Its simply beautiful! Mad Scientist Rich has now out done himself as he continues to build.

This will blow your doors off and PRINT IT!
