I like what Carlo wrote about the Cote's in "Chicago's Calm Before the Storm" here at THH. It helps us to get to know them. Let's take continue it...

I am sure not everyone who is coming to the US Open knows all of the other players. Just like going to an NHL or other professional sports game has a program for that night's game with player bio's, interesting stories and whatnot, I thought it might be cool if we did the same for this US Open. It can be a way to get to know one another.

So, if you are one of the players...how about providing a list of tournaments or leagues you've participated in the last 1-3 years, how well you did e.g. 5 of 60 players (5/60), if you won a medal or trophy and your hometown and league. And, your best experience.

For Example:
Name: John Doe, Medicine Hat, Canada
Boards: Stiga (or Coleco, or Coleco & Stiga)
Leagues: Medicine Hat THL 1996-2007, 4th place 1996, Champion 2002, Vezina Trophy 2005.
Tournaments: Inuit Open, 3rd place "B" division
Best Experience: down 0-5 in game 7 of MHTHL finals, I came back to win 7-6 againt Giant Joe.

or a story...

Here's a list of players for Stiga and Coleco to choose from. Write about yourself or one of the players on this list.

Well in my case there is not much to tell but here goes:

Name: Peter Basdeckis, South Elgin, IL, USA
Boards: Brand new Carleco (Blackhawk center ice)
Leagues: Played once in Lemont Table Hockey League after a 20 year hiatus from table hockey
Tournaments: This weekend will be my first! I just hope I don't embarass myself too much.
Best Experience: I managed to win once and had 4 draws in my debut in Lemont playing Stiga, a game I had never played before.

Hey, Pete! Welcome aboard!

So, you're originally a Coleco player? Well, so am I. I will be in my first Stiga tournament this coming week as well. In fact, I've only played about an hour or two on that board so far. I hope to practice a lot this week. I grew up a Coleco player.

Hopefully, this weekend will give you the TH "bug." The fun of it is meeting people from all over, all walks of life, coming together to play this game...regardless of the board. We've got truck drivers with fuel as their cargo, who really know how to efficiently get around a city per the time of day without a map...and PhD's who know how to get around the world and wow non-English or non-French speaking crowds.

Well, guys, please take Pete's lead an introduce yourselves per the first message in this chat chain.

tournaments: most of 'em. I do a lot of traveling.
best experience: playing kenny on the classic benej for a few hours in my basement; meeting the LTHL/MHL boys in 2005 and then again in June; getting swept by lou marinoff in the nyctha classic league finals.

Lookin' foward to seeing everyone this coming weekend. thanks for your support.
