BREAKING OVTHL NEWS,
Don't want to get to ahead of things or jynx anything, but the OVTHL is in initial negociations to possible be a segment on Dave and Dave's Excellent Adventures. A tv show on Public Television here in the Burgh.
http://www.wqed.org/tv/daves/

My wife and I love this show and while watching the newest show Saturday
and hearing they were looking for show ideas, A BIG BELL, went off in my tiny brain. Rolling On Floor Laughing What ia great way to promote the OVTHL ! See below the repsonse and my letter to them. Wish us luck

First off, thanks for calling us "gentlemen," we don't get that very much!

I love table hockey and we'll add this to our idea file. August isn't do-able for us because we're wrapped up in our new documentary Strange PA. This seems more like a winter hockey-season idea to me anyway. So we'll keep this in mind and hopefully we'll make it out to the Hoopie Dome soon.

Thanks for the idea and good luck in the finals!

Hello Gentlemen,

First off, my wife and I really enjoy your show and were quite excited to see the newest show on Saturday night, your tour at the Rogers Flea market. At the end of the show you asked viewers to email you about places you could visit for a half hour or more.

Well, I think I have just the thing for you two. I know you are both huge sports fans and love a challenge so this might be just right up your alley. My friend Shawn and I are Co-Commissioners of the Ohio Valley Table Hockey League aka the OVTHL. You know table hockey like you played when you were a kid! , like chexx but not chexx.

We play mainly on what the world plays on Stiga, but we also play on two custom made games. We meet every other Saturday night, in the hoopie dome, aka, my garage. Weirton WV, just crossed the boarder. 5 minutes from Star Lake. I have attended two major tournaments this year, one in Vegas in January and another in Detroit in March. I m heading to Chicago this Friday the 26 th to play in the Stiga US Open and Coleco US Open, the best table hockey players in north America will be in attendance.

The OVTHL would like to extend an invitation for the Dave's to join us for one of our league nights, we would love to prompt our league and gain more players through out the Ohio Valley, so that one day Pittsburgh has a league to rivals those in Detroit, Chicago, New York and Montreal.

I think we would make a fascinating story, especially with the success of the Penguins this past year. Our next league night is August 2nd and our Summer Championship will be August 23rd. Of course, there will be free hot wings, made by my wife.

I really hope you consider us for a story, or part on your great program, and if not, hell your still invited to play. Please see links below, to a great web site, everything table hockey, www.tablehockeyheaven.com <http>

Again, thanks for your time and consideration, we sincerely hope to hear
from you. My home # is *********Please let us know and we will
provide more detail information regarding our league. It would be
awesome to hit the big time w/ the help of Dave and Dave !!

Regards,

Eric and CC of Shawn.

Thanks Jim, I was very happy with my night, I've been working hard on the tips i picked up in Chicago Cowboy and it really paid off. I m going to have to work extra hard in the time coming up to the summer playoff as i tried to pass some tips on to the hitmen as i am sure they will too be working hard on them also. The summer regular season was nice to win, but the real work is not yet done. Blazing Guns

A BIG THANKS to Shawn for bringing the hotdogs they were delicious !! Clapping

The OVTHL held it's first league championship on Saturday, August 23rd.

And it's official...... Shawn Tustin is the first OVTHL champion!!

The final results are....

1. Shawn Tustin -Champion

2. Dean Moore

3. Eric DiBacco

4. Mike Hubbard

5. Dave Wright

6. Jay Yobaggy

Brian Narry DNP

Bill Yeager DNP

Shawn had a hard road to travel in order to win the championship. In the first round 4th ranked Shawn beat 5th ranked Dave Wright 4-0 (games). Then in the second round Shawn battled 1st ranked Eric DiBacco in an incredibly hard fought series. Shawn went on to win the best of seven series 4-3. Then the Championship match pitted Shawn against 2nd ranked Dean 'Tinman' Moore. Shawn won the grueling series 4-3. Dean had several opportunities to take Shawn down... with Dean leading the match at one point 3-2 ....until Shawn was able to rally and win the last two games to take the OVTHL Championship 4-3.
